After a week of spending some quality time in the beautiful town of Vincennes its time to go home. This has been a week to remember, I was diagnosed with mild bronchitis and a throat infection, which was about the end of me. After putting it off for a week I went to the hospital and got some meds.
This weekend entails some hunting and working with the bird dog. I can’t wait. There is something about seeing the dog in action in the field that I can’t get enough of. It really is beautiful. When an animal gets to do what it is bred to do after being cooped up in a garage all summer its a site to see. Dixie, my dog, works her but off out there in the field. many years were spent working and training her and I don’t regret a minute of it.
She gives it her all and that’s all i can ask for. Dove is in season and they are a before pre practice for duck season. It gets ya limbered back up and the dogs memory refreshed. Thos pesky little birds are quick, taking dives and turns at forty miles an hour. This really test the shooter’s ability. It is also a great time to hang out with hunting friends you haven seen all season.
I can’t wait next thing ya know it will be duck season, then trapping season and I’ll be one happy camper.
Stay tuned, there is more to come !
